Use Solar Products to Help Lower Utility Costs.

When you’re using the sun’s energy to power your home, you’re going to experience lower utility costs. You only need a system to capture this energy. That’s where we mention the SunSource® Home Energy System.

How can solar energy reduce utility costs?

Each solar module harvests energy and tranforms it into electricity that’s used primarily to power your HVAC equipment, such as your air conditioner and furnace. According to the U.S. Department of Energy, 48 percent of the energy used in a typical U.S. home comes from heating and cooling. Just think, even if your solar energy system only converts enough electricity for the AC and furnace, you can still likely cut your electric bill in half every year.

However, the more modules you install, the more electricity you could produce. Energy that isn’t used for your heating and cooling equipment will be used to power other appliances in your home, such as your refrigerator and washing machine, or lights and any other items you plug into an outlet. We’re talking TVs, cell phones – anything! Now if your solar energy system is producing electricity for these devices, too, you’re considerably decreasing your dependence on the utility company. In fact, each month you may find yourself paying less and less to the utility company at all. What’s even nicer is that with net-metering, you can still use power from the grid if necessary, and you’ll be credited for any extra power your system generates that is put back into the utility’s grid.

ENERGY STAR® qualified

The Lennox® SunSource system reached ENERGY STAR qualification for meeting certain U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guidelines for energy efficiency. You know which have earned this title by looking for the blue ENERGY STAR label on the product’s packaging or website. When the solar energy system is used with other ENERGY STAR-qualified products, such as our Lennox Signature® Series air conditioners and gas furnaces , you could save substantially more.
